Ram Promaster City Oil Change (2015+)
Follow this guide to easily perform a Ram Promaster City oil change. The van is made for commercial use meaning maintenance is simple for anyone to do. Tools Needed:
- 13mm wrench or 13mm socket and ratchet
- 3 jaw style oil filter removal wrench with a ratchet and extension
- Funnel for fresh engine oil
- 6 quart capacity (or more) oil drain pan
- Jack with jack stands or drive on ramps
- Clean rags or paper towels

- 0W20 engine oil – 5.5 qt capacity
- Engine oil filter – Wix 57060 or equivalent filter
Ram Promaster City Oil Change Procedure:
- Park vehicle in a level spot and warm motor to operating temp
- Check engine oil level and condition on dip stick – if it is low, take note to check and top off between oil changes in the future
- Drive on ramps or lift with jack and place on jack stands
- Loosen drain plug with the 13mm wrench or socket and let it drain into the oil drain pan
- When draining oil slows from the drain plug, move to below the oil filter as well
- Loosen and remove oil filter using oil filter wrench (oil will leak out from around oil filter o ring once seal is broken)
- Fill engine oil filter with fresh engine oil (helps build oil pressure quicker on initial start up after oil change)
- Lubricate engine oil filter O ring with fresh engine oil and install it to oil filter housing
- Install engine oil drain plug to engine oil pan and tighten to spec
- Pour 5.5 quarts of engine oil into engine oil fill hole using a funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
- Start engine to let oil circulate and build oil pressure
- Lower the vehicle down by driving off the vehicle ramps or using the jack to lower it from the jack stands
- Check engine oil level on dip stick and adjust oil level by adding more if needed
