2019+ 3.0L Duramax Fuel Filter Change

A Fuel filter change on a 2019+ 3.0L Duramax is simple to do and a critical piece of maintenance. Typically these are done at maintenance intervals that you will be alerted of on the dash, however a bad batch of fuel or extreme low temperatures could make the filter change needed earlier than anticipated. A plugged fuel filter could cause anything from low power to a poor running engine. Luckily, not much is needed for the job and the filters are relatively affordable when compared to other diesels. This guide is specific to 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 model year 3.0L Duramax equipped trucks. The procedure is the same for both Chevrolet and GMC models.
