Kia Telluride Oil Change (2019+)

Tools and Supplies Needed:
- 17mm socket for the oil pan drain plug
- Torque wrench
- 27mm socket and ratchet for the oil filter housing
- 10mm socket and ratchet
- Oil fill funnel
- Oil Drain pan with at least 7 qt capacity
- Clean rag

Kia Telluride Oil Change Procedure:
- Warm the vehicle up to operating temp
- Check engine oil level on the dipstick to verify no prior issues
- Remove the skid plate below the engine oil filter (next to the oil pan) using the 10mm socket
- Loosen the engine oil pan drain plug using the 17mm socket and ratchet allowing the engine oil to fully drain into the drain pan
- Loosen the oil filter housing using the 27mm socket and ratchet
- Remove and replace the oil filter housing O ring
- Remove and replaced the oil filter
- Install oil filter housing – torque to 35 N.M if a torque wrench is available
- Reinstall and tighten oil drain plug using the 17mm wrench
- Reinstall the skid plate previously removed
- Fill engine with 6.6 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
- Start the engine to let the engine oil circulate and build pressure (Check for any leaks or abnormalities while running) and shut the engine back down
- Check engine oil level & top off if necessary
- Reset the engine oil maintenance reminder to properly track service intervals
