Honda Accord Oil Change (2018+ 2.0T)

A 2018+ Honda Accord oil change is an easy way to save money and have the peace of mind that it was done right. The guide is specifically for the 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 Honda Accord equipped with the 2.0T engine.

Tools Needed:

  • 17mm wrench
  • Filter wrench
  • Flat head screw driver
  • Phillips head screw driver
  • Oil fill funnel
  • Drain pan with at least 5.1 qt capacity
  • Ramps or a jack with jack stands
  • Clean rag

2018+ Honda Accord Oil Change (2.0T) Procedure:

  • Warm the engine up to operating temp
  • Check engine oil on dipstick to verify correct oil level – if it is low, take note to check between services
  • Raise front end using ramps or a jack with jack stands
  • Remove the skid plate under the engine oil drain plug by removing all quarter turn fasteners with the flat head screw driver and the 2 screws using the Phillips head screw driver
  • Loosen the oil pan drain plug using the 17mm wrench and let the engine oil drain into the drain pan
  • Remove the oil filter cover by removing the 3 quarter turn fasteners using the flat head screw driver
  • Remove oil filter (use oil filter wrench if necessary)
  • Clean oil drain plug and oil filter mounting surfaces
  • Lubricate new oil filter O ring and install
  • Reinstall and tighten oil drain plug
  • Reinstall all under engine covers
  • Fill engine with 5.0 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
  • Start engine to let oil circulate (Check for any leaks or abnormalities while running) and shut engine back down
  • Check engine oil & top off if necessary
  • Lower front end
  • Reset your maintenance minder dash light
