F150 Diesel Oil Change (2018+ 3.0L)

The Ford F150 diesel oil change (3.0L Powerstroke engine) has many steps but it is not difficult. Preparation is key and planning to have the correct oil, filter, and tools to do the job is the most important thing. The 5W30 meeting the FA4 standard is more difficult to get than other grades and priced at a premium from the dealer, using the severe duty 5W40 grade oil is common and much easier to get. This article is specific to the 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 model year Ford F-150 trucks equipped with the 3.0L Powerstroke Diesel engine. For other Ford specific articles, visit the Ford page.
