Kia Seltos Oil Change (2021+ 1.6T)
A complete guide for everything you need to know to perform a Kia Seltos oil change. This article is specific to 2021 and 2022 model years when equipped with the 1.6T engine. It is equipped with a skid plate however it has holes specifically for accessing the oil filter and oil drain plug making this oil change a simple task. Tools Needed:
- 17mm socket and ratchet or wrench for the engine oil pan drain plug
- Oil filter wrench
- A few shop rags to clean dip stick and any mess or spill
- 5 quart capacity oil drain pan
- Drive on ramps or a jack and jack stands

- 5W30 engine oil (4.75 quart capacity)
- Wix 51334 engine oil filter or equivalent part
2021+ 1.6T Kia Seltos Oil Change Procedure:
- Park SUV in a safe and level spot
- Raise front end by driving onto ramps or setting the vehicle on jack stands using a jack
- Remove engine oil fill cap
- Loosen the oil drain plug using the 17mm socket or wrench and let oil drain into the drain pan
- When engine oil is fully drained, reinstall the oil pan drain plug
- Move oil drain pan under the oil filter and remove the oil filter using the oil filter wrench if necessary
- Lubricate new oil filter o ring using some fresh engine oil
- Spin on new engine oil filter and tighten to block
- Fill engine with 4.75 quarts of new engine oil
- Start engine and drive off ramps or shut engine back down (after 30 seconds or after oil pressure builds) and lower front end off of jack stands
- When vehicle is once again level, check engine oil level on dip stick and adjust oil level if necessary
