Jeep Gladiator Oil Change (2019+ 3.6L)
A JT Jeep Gladiator Oil Change equipped with a 3.6L Pentastar engine closely follows the procedure for all other vehicles equipped with the same engine, most popularly the JL Jeep Wrangler. This engine uses a cartridge style oil filter which drains back and reduces the mess made in the process. JT Jeep Gladiator Oil Change Procedure:
- Warm the engine to operating temp (Warmer engine oil drains faster and helps suspend contaminants in the oil that will be drained)

- Remove oil pan drain plug and let oil drain into pan using the 13mm (or 1/2″) socket and ratchet
- Remove oil filter using the 24mm (or 15/16″) socket, extension and ratchet
- With the oil filter cap removed, remove and replace housing o ring and filter
- Reinstall oil filter with housing and torque to 18 ft lbs
- Reinstall and torque oil drain plug to 20 ft lbs
- Fill just under 5 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
- Start engine to let the engine build oil pressure so the dipstick level will be accurate and shut engine back down
- Check engine oil level & top off if necessary
- Reset the maintenance reminder
