C8 Corvette Oil Change (2020+ Z51)
This is a complete guide to performing a C8 Corvette oil change. It is specific to the 2020, 2021, and 2022 model year Z51 Corvettes equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. Although some parts of the car can be complicated, the oil change is simple enough for anyone to do. It is equipped with large under engine covers but there are holes for easy access to the oil filter and drain plug. Tools Needed:
- 15mm socket and ratchet
- Oil filter socket or claw style removal tool
- Drain pan with at least 8 quart capacity
- Clean shop rags
- Funnel
- Drive on ramps

- 0W40 Engine oil – 7.5 quart capacity
- AC Delco PF64 engine oil filter or equivalent aftermarket part
C8 Corvette Oil Change Procedure:
- Park in a level spot and make sure engine is warmed up to operating temperature
- Check engine oil level to verify there are no prior issues
- Back onto ramps and chock front wheels
- Remove engine oil fill cap
- Remove drain plug using the 15mm socket and ratchet and drain engine oil into the drain pan
- Clean drain plug and inspect O ring for any damage – remove and replace if any damage is found
- Reinstall drain plug when engine oil is fully drained
- Remove engine oil filter and clean mounting surface
- Prime new engine oil filter with new engine oil and lubricate engine oil filter o ring
- Install new engine oil filter
- Fill engine with the remainder of the 7.5 quarts of new engine oil
- Reinstall engine oil fill cap
- Start engine, let oil pressure build and drive off of ramps
- Make sure car is parked on a level surface
- Check engine oil level on dip stick and adjust if necessary
