Bronco Sport Oil Change (2021+ Ford 1.5L)
A complete guide to the Ford Bronco Sport oil change. This is specific to the 2021 & 2022 model years when equipped with the 1.5L Ecoboost engine. The SUV is equipped with a skid plate that will need to be lowered and the vehicle is too low to the ground to drop it with out raising the front end. Tools Needed:
- 16mm socket and ratchet
- T30 torx bit socket and ratchet
- Oil filter pliers
- 6qt capacity oil drain pan
- Funnel
- Clean rag
- Drive on ramps or a jack and jack stands

2021+ Ford Bronco Sport 1.5L Ecoboost Oil Change Procedure:
- Park vehicle in a safe and level spot
- Make sure the engine is warmed up – if it is not start engine, warm to operating temp and shut it back down
- Raise front end by driving on ramps or setting it on jack stands
- Remove the engine oil fill cap
- Remove the lower skid plates using the T30 torx bit and ratchet
- Drain engine oil into drain pan using the 16mm socket and ratchet
- Reinstall and tighten drain pan when the oil pan is fully drained
- Remove the engine oil filter using the oil filter pliers
- Lubricate new engine oil filter o ring with fresh engine oil and install
- Fill engine with 5.3 quarts of new engine oil using the funnel
- Reinstall engine oil fill cap
- Start engine until oil pressure builds and shut engine back down
- Verify there are no leaks or issues and reinstall the skid plate
- Lower front end from jack stands or ramps
- When on level ground, check engine oil level on dip stick – adjust if necessary by adding or removing engine oil
