Nissan Frontier Oil Change Procedure:

  • Warm engine to operating temp
  • Check engine oil level on dipstick to verify no prior issues. If it is low, make note to check and top off level before the next oil change
  • Remove oil filter access panel using 8mm socket and ratchet
  • Loosen engine oil pan drain plug using the 14mm socket / ratchet and let the engine oil drain into the drain pan
  • Remove oil filter (use the filter wrench if too tight to remove by hand)
  • Clean oil drain plug and oil filter mounting surfaces
  • Lubricate oil filter o ring with fresh engine oil
  • Reinstall and tighten the engine oil drain plug to 27 ft lbs
  • Fill engine with 5 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
  • Start engine to let oil circulate (Check for any leaks or abnormalities while running) and shut engine back down
  • Check engine oil level & top off if necessary (Check on level ground
