Nissan Frontier Oil Change (2005+ 4.0L)

Tools Needed:
- 14mm socket and ratchet
- Torque wrench
- 8mm socket and ratchet
- Oil filter wrench or removal tool
- Funnel
- Oil Drain pan with at least 6 qt capacity
- Clean rag
- Vehicle ramps or a jack with jack stands (if needed)

Parts needed:
- 6 quarts 5W30 engine oil (5.4 qt capacity)
- Oil filter – Fram PH7317 or WIX 51356
Nissan Frontier Oil Change Procedure:
- Warm engine to operating temp
- Check engine oil level on dipstick to verify no prior issues. If it is low, make note to check and top off level before the next oil change
- Remove oil filter access panel using 8mm socket and ratchet
- Loosen engine oil pan drain plug using the 14mm socket / ratchet and let the engine oil drain into the drain pan
- Remove oil filter (use the filter wrench if too tight to remove by hand)
- Clean oil drain plug and oil filter mounting surfaces
- Lubricate oil filter o ring with fresh engine oil
- Reinstall and tighten the engine oil drain plug to 27 ft lbs
- Fill engine with 5 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
- Start engine to let oil circulate (Check for any leaks or abnormalities while running) and shut engine back down
- Check engine oil level & top off if necessary (Check on level ground
- Reinstall oil filter access panel
