Jeep Renegade Oil Change – 2019+ 1.3L Turbo
New for 2019, the 1.3L engine improves on the out going 1.4L engine. The Jeep Renegade oil change is made simpler going from a cartridge style to a more traditional spin on style oil filter. It does have a skid plate blocking the oil filter, but it is light and simple to take down. Tools Needed:
- 10mm & 13mm sockets
- T30 bit socket
- Ratchet for above sockets and bit
- Filter wrench
- Oil fill funnel
- Drain pan with at least 5 qt capacity
- Ramps or a jack with jack stands
- Clean rag

- 0w30 engine oil – 4.5 qt capacity
- Oil filter – MOPAR 68439517AA
2019+ Jeep Renegade (1.3L) Oil Change Procedure:
- Warm engine to operating temp
- Check engine oil on dipstick to verify no issues (the dipstick is part of the oil fill cap)
- Raise front end by driving onto the ramps or using the jack to place it on jack stands
- Remove the skid plate using the 13mm socket, 10mm socket, T30 bit socket and the ratchet
- Loosen the oil pan drain plug using the 13mm wrench and let the engine oil drain into the drain pan
- Remove oil filter using the oil filter wrench
- Clean oil drain plug and oil filter mounting surfaces
- Lubricate new oil filter O ring and install
- Reinstall and tighten oil drain plug
- Fill engine with 4.5 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
- Start engine to let oil circulate and build oil pressure
- Check for any leaks or issues
- Reinstall skid plate
- Lower vehicle by driving down ramps or using the jack to lower it from the jack stands
- Check engine oil level & top off if necessary
