Honda Fit Oil Change (2001 – 2008)
A 2001 – 2008 Honda Fit oil change is a simple way to save money and stay on top of your car’s service schedule. They are all equipped with the same 1.5L engine with the same service intervals. For a 2008 – 2013 Honda Fit oil change, follow this alternate guide.
Tools Needed:
- 17mm wrench
- Oil filter wrench
- Funnel
- Oil Drain pan with at least 4 quart capacity
- Clean rag
- Wheel ramps or a jack with jack stands

Honda Fit Oil Change Procedure:
- Warm engine to operating temp
- Check engine oil on dipstick to verify no issues
- Raise vehicle by driving on ramps or lift with a jack and set on jack stands
- Remove oil pan drain plug using the 17mm wrench and let the engine oil drain into the drain pan
- Remove oil filter (use oil filter wrench if necessary)
- Clean oil drain plug and oil filter mounting surfaces
- Lubricate new oil filter O ring and install
- Reinstall and tighten oil drain plug
- Fill engine with 3.5 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
- Start engine to let oil circulate (Check for any leaks or abnormalities while running) and shut engine back down
- Check engine oil & top off if necessary
- Lower vehicle off ramps or jack stands
