Gen 1 Ford Raptor Oil Change (2010 – 2014 6.2L)
A 2010 – 2014 Gen 1 6.2L Ford Raptor oil change costs less if you do it your self, no need to pay for the dealer to do it. Follow your service schedule to stay on top of maintenance. This guide is specific to the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Ford Raptor model years when equipped with the 6.2L engine. How to Change the Oil in a Ford Raptor
Follow these steps to easily change the engine oil in a 2010 – 2014 Gen 1 6.2L Ford Raptor
Tools Needed:
- T40 bit for removing skid plate access panel
- 16mm socket for oil pan drain plug
- Ratchet for above sockets
- Oil filter wrench for tight oil filters
- Oil drain pan (over 7 qt capacity)
- Funnel
- Rag to clean dipstick

- FL820S Motorcraft oil filter (OEM)
- 7 quarts 5W20 engine oil (Ford recommends synthetic blend at minimum)
Ford Raptor Oil Change Tutorial:
- Warm engine to operating temp
- Check engine oil on dipstick to verify no issues
- Remove skid plate access panel with T40 bit
- Loosen oil pan drain plug and let oil drain into pan
- Remove oil filter (use oil filter wrench if necessary)
- Clean oil drain plug and oil filter mounting surfaces
- Lubricate new oil filter O ring and install
- Reinstall and tighten oil drain plug
- Fill with 7 quarts of engine oil with oil fill funnel and reinstall oil fill cap
- Start engine to let oil circulate (Check for any leaks or abnormalities while running) and shut engine back down
- Check engine oil & top off if necessary
- Reinstall skid plate access plate
